Partisanenweg auf Pohorje, Slowenien

After years as a part time music journalist I decided to accept the fact that in this line of work a refusal to get into contemporary music is rather counterproductive. Also: just two concerts in one year (though both being really wonderful) seems somewhat insufficient. A Beatles-Reunion-Concert appears to be less and less likely anyway - so I might stop waiting for that one right now and see some of these younger bands like Abba, T-Rex or Nirvana.
New life, here I come.

What kind of live do you have, when it needs about 3 hours after getting up until you realize what day of the week it is?
Taking into consideration that it makes no difference when you finally do, it gets you to the point of either great joy or grief.

The other night I was dreaming someones book. I'm not quite sure if it was really good, since I forgot most of it. Obviously I had to order it and now I will have to read it in order to verify my forgotten dream. Which is OK, I was going to buy it anyway.

To achieve nothing requires a lot of work sometimes.

By the way.

Or something in between.

Crying, while eating.
This is some crazy shit. Last night HRH Die Prinzessin Hans (next public appearance on August 16th at Monster Ronsons) brought this webpage to my attention as we were about to kick off the Crying Mothers Society. The story behind that one I keep to myself for the time being, since I'm not sure whether I make some hilariously arty project out of it. Strange evening that was anyway. Met someone I hadn't seen for almost 10 years and I actually enjoyed talking to that person and wasn't even annoyed by the frequent pointing to the fact that I look somewhat different than I did in his memory.
I also met beloved writers M., K. and P. (Oh, don't you just hate that? As if namedropping wouldn't be fucked up enough, no, it has to be only initials so you can guess if they are really famous. Believe me, one of them is, the other two would deserve it.) who recognised me right away.
Of course there is more, but I couldn't be bothered at all to write about everything, an approach that might go well with the needs of my dear readers.

OK, a virus is threatening to extinguish the human race (or it's british siblings). Again. After three decades. Great idea, very original. Yawn. But: I like the film Doomsday. Thrilling and entertaining, a strong female lead (one doesn't get this very often), good cast alltogether. Even though the references to Mad Max and other apocalyptic 80s films are a bit too in-the-face - I still like it and if you didn't see it yet, I highly recommend you go and watch this good piece of popcorn horror.

War on windows

Yes, exactly what you think.
My mother just cried out for help. She had turned the screen upside down and didn't know how that happened. Yeah well, Windows! Ctrl+Alt+Arrow. Very neat function there. Very useful indeed. Sometimes I really feel like turning it all upside down and until now I always had to take the actual monitor and physically turn it, but now I know if I have the urgent need to read something standing on my head, there's an easier way. Leave me alone. Thank you.

War on Windows

No, not what you think.
Even though it's cheaper, I do not recommend living on the ground floor. For 5 days now that pigfucker of a landlord is renewing our windows. Kitchen, bath and my small room, all three with windows to the backyard normally, now with just holes in the walls, are partially or completely put out of use. This morning I showered in plain sight of the people from the bike workshop, then made my breakfeast talking to some guy mowning the lawn.
Playstation and DVD-Player are stored in a cupboard in the hall, anyone physically capable of lifting that heavy bastard of a tv-set deserves to keep it, I sleep on my couch. At nights we creatively lock the doors to the three rooms: the kitchen with a ladder and two volumes Lenin (Selected works), the bathroom with a shovel, only my small room has a lock, some ridiculous not at all trustworthy piece of shit. I decided to fill the room with empty beer bottles, of which I have an endless supply, just to have a chance to hear any trespasser when he or she falls on to them, so that I can get really afraid the moment I hear sounds of rattling glas next door. "Luckily" I'm sick and the flat mates' working from home, so we always have an eye on things, but still... When they modernised east german houses in the early ninetees, they needed a week to do a twelve storey building completely. Why does it need so much longer to just replace a few windows?
We offered to help with the painting and stuff but the landord refused, he seems to have an opinion about us, craftsmanshipwise. He might have a point there but I mean - how much diversion can it be for Mister Speed? How much longer would it take? How long oh Lord, how long.
